The SSTV site |
SlowScanTeleVision or SSTV is a modulation with which it is possible to exchange pictures worldwide via radio. From the early beginnings with grayscale-pictures in the 70īs until today, there is quite a difference. Today, hiresolution color pictures are the standard. There are different exchange protocols, but today MARTIN M1 and SCOTTIE S1 are the most common. You can find SSTV signals on shortwave around 14.230, 21.340 and 28.680MHz and in Europe 144.500 on VHF is also used. All you need to get started is a Pentium 90 PC with a soundcard, Windows 95/98/NT and a software like CromaPix.
